The sheepskin is soft from the first wear and moulds to the head shape within the first week of regular use. Leather Flat Cap Ageing
Black sheepskin leather develops grey highlights at stress points and softens to a slightly less rigid finish over the first few months. The cotton lining absorbs perspiration and prevents it from reaching the leather, which helps the exterior maintain its appearance longer. Condition the leather once or twice a year with a neutral leather balm to keep it supple and prevent cracking.
